On Saturday morning, President Trump has expressed his optimistic view regarding the failure of the Republican Obamacare replacement: the American Health Care Act (AHCA) for the first time on Twitter.
Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI) introduced his “Ryancare” or “Obamacare lite” bill to massive backlash from major Conservative groups such as the House Freedom Caucus and many Republican Senators. The bill was pulled before being put to a vote on the House floor.
White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon had even claimed the plan was “Written by the insurance agency”.
President Trump is still hopeful though, telling the media on Friday that the failure in Congress would allow them more time to come up with a better plan that he promised on the campaign trail, and blamed Democrats for opposing the AHCA.
“The losers are Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, because they own Obamacare. They 100% own it,” Trump stated. “They have Obamacare for a little while longer until it ceases to exist, which it will at some point in the near future.”
