First reported by LowellSun.com, the criminal case against a 22 year old Syrian refugee accused of inappropriately touching a 13 year old girl at the Raymond Lord Memorial pool in Lowell, Massachusetts was dismissed in the Lowell District Court last month.
“Emad Hasso, 22 Of 82 Willie St., Lowell was dismissed of indecent assault and battery of a child under 14 last month due to lack of prosecution.”
Kittredge moved to have the case dismissed due to a lack of evidence in November. But Judge Thomas Brennan denied the motion because police reports said the alleged victim reported Hasso touched her close to her private parts. Brennan said that testimony could potentially satisfy the legal requirements to prove the charge.
A source for the Lowell Sun said the case was dropped after the alleged victim’s mother said in open court that she did not want her daughter to testify.
Middlesex county District Attorney can be reached at (781) 897-8300 for any questions regarding the case.
