While talking on a podcast, professor Tommy Curry of Texas A&M, expressed his frustration with the issue of killing white people and how it has never been discussed seriously. Referencing a joke that Jamie Foxx made about how great it was to kill all the white people in Django Unchained, Curry stated that it should not be just an “entertaining fantasy.”
Curry also referenced black civil rights leader Robert F. Williams as well as the slave rebellion leader Nat Turner because they “thought about killing white people as self-defense.” He added that this “tradition” is still “relevant” in today’s society.
“When we have this conversation about violence, or killing white people, it has to be looked at in the context of historical turn,” Curry said before adding, “the fact that we’ve had no one address, like how relevant and how solidified this kind of tradition is, for black people saying look, in order to be equal, in order to be liberated, some white people may have to die.”
